So you’ve moved to Utah, or maybe you’re scoping it out as a new place to live. Whatever the case, welcome! Now that you’re here for a while, it’s time to find some fun things to do. Utah is pretty well known for its outdoor attractions, especially its parks. While those definitely make the list of some of the best summer activities to do in Utah, they aren’t the only things worth checking out. There are all sorts of fun things you can spend your time on when you’re in Utah during the summer. Go Camping Utah is definitely up there when it comes to states that have some truly prime camping opportunities. As a state, it’s ranked 5th for the number of national parks and 14th for the number of national and state parks combined. That alone provides numerous unique and amazing camping experiences, but you don’t have to go to a state or national park to go camping in Utah. There are plenty of campsites up canyons and at resorts that you can enjoy. While you can go camping in Utah during any season, there’s nothing quite like camping during the summer. You can hike, bike, climb, or enjoy water sports during the day and stargaze at night. Temperatures get warm during the day, but as long as you’re properly prepared there’s no doubt that camping is one of the best summer activities to do in Utah. Visit Amusement Parks While Disneyland and Disney World are certainly some of the most iconic amusement parks in the world, you don’t have to leave the state to have a fun amusement park experience. If you’re looking for an awesome summer activity to do in Utah, check out one of the amusement parks in the state. Lagoon Park in Farmington features plenty of roller coasters for those looking for a thrilling ride. The Cowabunga Bay and Summit Splash water parks in Draper and Provo respectively are perfect for anyone looking to cool off from the summer’s heat. There’s also the newer Evermore Park in Pleasant Grove, which offers seasonal-themed experiences with a fantasy European setting. Check Out Carnivals and Fairs Amusement parks are fun, but you don’t have to go to one to have a good time during a Utah summer. Cities and communities all over the state hold yearly carnivals that you can visit and enjoy throughout the summer. There’s also the Utah State Fair towards the end of the summer season. With rides, exhibits, shows, food, contests, and more, there’s something for everyone. You probably won’t have to travel far from home to find a fun event to visit at some point. Visit Farmers Markets If fresh produce and homemade goods tickle your fancy, be sure to check out at least one of the farmers’ markets throughout the state. The Salt Lake City Farmers Market is the largest. It runs every Saturday from June to October in Pioneer Park. An excellent experience for singles and families alike, you can purchase locally-grown produce, artisanal goods, and gourmet food. Salt Lake City isn’t the only place where you can find a farmers market to visit though. Virtually every area of Utah has a handful to visit. Enjoy Water Sports Water conservation has taken something of a front seat in Utah lately, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t get out and enjoy water sports still. Current low water levels may cause some trouble for boating on some lakes, but you may still be able to make it work, depending on the lake and your boat. You could also try tubing down Provo, Weber, or Sevier rivers for a refreshing way to escape the summer heat. Utah also offers plenty of swimming and fishing opportunities for anyone who wishes to partake in either of those fun summer activities. There are a ton of fun summer activities in Utah that you can enjoy while you’re here. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for something fun to do, visiting, or have been here for a while and are looking for something to do with guests, there’s something for everyone during Utah summers. See what’s happening in your area or take a trip a little further from home to create some awesome memories this summer doing something everyone is sure to love!
